About Mizu Ryu Ju Jitsu

This style of Ju Jutsu was established April 24th 1994 by the Founder & 2 x Martial Arts Hall of Famer Anthony J. Bailey 7th Dan, who has over 40 years experience in Martial Arts.

MIzu Ryu Ju Jitsu is a Gendai (Modern) Ju Jutsu syllabus with influences from Koryu (Old School) Ju Jutsu, Judo and other Martial Arts he studied over the years, including weapon styles and is equally tempered by his front-line experience as a Doorman & Bodyguard for over 2 decades as well as the traditional Japanese healing arts he studied.

Japanese terms can be confusing so check out this page for a brief intro to the difference between Jutsu & Jitsu and why they are used.

Critically acclaimed, our syllabus is more than just self defence, with decades of experience it is built on our SD3 initiative;

Self Defence

Self Discipline

Self Development

'In order to complete a sculpture, you must have the right tools. We teach you how to use the tools and how to keep them sharp and in good working order'.

Our children have fun whilst also learning valuable lessons. Our members are licensed, Instructors DBS checked, the club is approved by MASA, the Martial Arts Standards Agency and our Founder, listed by the industry as one of the UK's top Instructors, has been interviewed for many magazines and books over the years.

We teach tried and tested self defence techniques to both Children and Adults of a wide variety of ages, ranges of ability and fitness levels.

More than that, we concentrate on helping students to discover and use the tools which often help improve their lives in many other ways, not just in the physical manner associated with the self defence that we teach, but by also teaching community awareness, meditation, self discipline and respect.

We also teach the more historical and esoterical sides of our parent art including original Usui Reiki with our founder being a registered Reiki Master / Teacher.
